Regulatory TrainingThe learner who succeeds will be capable of safely operating a counterbalanced lift truck. To make sure the lift truck is operating properly, they will also be able to undertake pre- and post-inspections. By using the equipment and its accessories as needed, the student will be able to manage the loading and storing of freight. In the event of an incident or accident, they will also have access to the emergency system and services.
The successful learner will be capable of using and operating a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) securely after completing the course. In order to reduce or eliminate safety dangers and the resulting losses, the learner will be able to evaluate their work environment, identify any safety concerns, execute pre-inspection tests, and operate the MEWP in a safe manner.
The successful learner will be able to operate a basic purpose lift truck. They will also be able to access emergency support and services, in the case of an emergency, while operating a lift truck. The person is also able to identify and classify the load, and handle and move the freight, while operating the lifting equipment (in accordance with standards and its performance capabilities). The successful learner will also able to monitor the fitness of the lift truck.
On completion of this course, the successful learner will be credited with this unit standard, which means they can demonstrate an integrated practical and theoretical grounding in crane operations, according to safe handling and maintenance practices in compliance with crane manufacturer’s and legislated standards.
The learner who succeeds will be able to drive a defined-purpose lift truck that runs on batteries. In the event of an emergency while operating a lift truck, the learner can reach emergency support and services. Along with handling and moving the freight, the individual can also recognize and categorize the load and operate the lifting apparatus in compliance with performance capabilities and standards. Additionally, they can keep an eye on the lift truck’s condition.
